DSTV MEDIA SALES - MIPAN CONFERENCE EXPLORES THE ROLE OF VIDEO CONTENT IN BUILDING BRAND LOYALTY
DStv Media Sales (DMS), and Media Independent Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) partnered in hosting an engaging 7th edition of the annual media conference on 11th May, 2023 in Lagos, Nigeria.
This year the conference theme centred on the role of video content in building brand loyalty. The panel of speakers was made up of esteemed industry leaders. Setting the scene of the current media landscape and video entertainment consumption trends and evolution was Kholeka Maringa, Executive Head of Sales, Africa, DStv Media Sales. Weaving in a view of the regulatory aspect of advertising was Dr Olalekan Fadolapo of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
“It is important for us to stay on the pulse of evolving customer behaviours, needs and movements, understand them intricately in order to pair brands with the perfect content dishes, tailored to varied palettes,” said Maringa. The conference provided media practitioners with an opportunity to deliberate on ideas and platforms that will enable the right choice of advertising investment for brands and advertisers. It all begins with understanding the power of meeting audiences where they’re at, which is wherever their content favourites reside. Delegates were treated to a preview of thrilling content coming up on the DStv platform, sure to keep audiences engaged and loyal to the platform.
The conference was attended by a wide array of industry stakeholders, among them were marketing team leads and directors from sectors such as Gaming, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs), Telecommunications, Fintech amongst many others.
The conference is one of several initiatives by MIPAN in the aim to develop and improve the media advertising function in Nigeria, promote merit-based reward systems, ensure continuous improvement, and facilitate the development of an enabling environment for the media advertising industry.
“We are proud of the continual success of the DMS-MIPAN conference and the valuable insights derived. We look forward to all the more impactful media partnerships across Africa,” said Fahmeeda Cassim-Surtee, CEO DStv Media Sales in conclusion.
